Susan
Olmos resides in Seattle Washington. Musical studies at the
University of Hawaii and the University of Washington yielded a career in Choral
Conducting and Music Education. In college,
Susan sang in various Jazz and Pop bands and was the lead singer for an
acoustic guitar trio in Hawaii. She also spent a few years singing solo with an acoustic guitar for a popular lounge on Waikiki Beach. Susan plays a variety of instruments that
include recorder, piano, violin, flute, clarinet, and percussion. Her knowledge of
orchestration brings a lush addition to her original compositions.
Musical
influences are in the genres of Classical, Folk and Rock. Karen Carpenter, Joni
Mitchell, Annie Haslam, Chip Davis of
Mannheim Steamroller are among the artists that have inspired Susan's style. |
